Young Lavey Gaels Feature for Their County

Congratulations to all the young Lavey players who represented Derry at the weekend. The girls enjoyed the best success rate; Aoife Shaw, Aine Murphy and the Conway sisters Aine & Niamh (all pictured above) picked up Ulster Championship medals as Derry defeated Antrim in the U16 Ulster Camogie Final on a score line of 1-11 to 2-3. Well done girls!

Unfortunately the boys weren’t quite as lucky; Declan Hughes played full back for the Derry Minor Footballers with Niall Toner (pictured below) lining out in corner forward against a large home crowd at Celtic Park in the first round of the Ulster Championship. Despite a strong second half performance, the young Derry side was defeated on a score line of Derry 0-14 Down 3-10.
