Feile na Og

The Lavey U14 footballers got off to a poor start this morning against rivals Bellaghy in round 3 of the Feile na Og games.  Although enjoying home advantage, it was the Bellaghy boys who started sharpest and eventually ran away with a 1-12 to 0-4 win.

The second match of the day saw Glen take on the strong Bellaghy side.  The young Glen lads put up a convincing challenge and Bellaghy were lucky to win by a single goal in what was a high scoring game.

Expecting another tough encounter, the Lavey team took to the field for their second match of the day against Glen.  The rest period between games assisted the home side, who this time were sharp off the mark and hammered home two early goals to stamp their authority on the game.  Glen responded with two points, but Lavey continued to dominate every position on the pitch and hit further goals and a series of points to win on an impressive score line of Lavey 5-9, Glen 0-2.

Congratulations to the young Lavey team on their victory and good luck in the next set of group games which will be held at Magherafelt on 16/03/13.
